Launching a groundbreaking initiative, this project sets out to establish the first-ever water-based park system along the Hudson River, aimed at providing seamless access for kayakers and boaters through a series of strategically designed boat and kayak launches integrated with pocket parks. It includes designing and implementing boat and kayak launches with pocket parks across multiple locations. Three sites have been prioritized for rapid development, featuring ADA-accessible facilities, interpretative signage to educate on local history and ecology, and infrastructure improvements like bulkhead repairs. The Coxsackie site (pictured) highlights include park enhancements, a prefabricated pavilion for events, and improved site lighting, all designed to enhance community spaces and celebrate the river's significance.
